Remembering History, Advancing with Resolve—The Party Branch of Nanjing Kesen Kenen Organizes a Screening of Dead to Rights

On the afternoon of August 8, responding to the call for patriotic education, the Party Branch of Nanjing Kesen Kenen Environment & Energy Co., Ltd. organized 13 Party members based in Nanjing to watch the powerful film Dead to Rights at Jinyi Cinemas, Longfor Paradise Walk, Hexi, Nanjing. The event aimed to review history, honor the dedication of revolutionary forebears, and further strengthen ideals and convictions while enhancing members’ sense of mission and responsibility.

Set against the 1937 Fall of Nanjing, Dead to Rights tells the story of ordinary citizens sheltering inside the “Jixiang (Lucky) Photographic Studio”, who accidentally discover negatives documenting atrocities committed by invading troops. At great personal risk, they safeguard this evidence and pass the truth on. The townspeople evolve from seeking mere survival amid chaos to standing up for national dignity and historical justice—an arc that embodies the Chinese nation’s indomitable spirit in times of peril.

During the screening, Party members were immersed in the film’s tense atmosphere and gripped by its dramatic turns. The suffering of compatriots filled the audience with anguish, while scenes of forebears upholding justice and sacrificing themselves brought many to tears and left a profound impact.

After the film, participants remarked that it offered a deep spiritual awakening and a renewed appreciation of how hard-won peace is. As Party members, they resolve to remember history, translate their patriotism into motivation at work, stay rooted in their posts, shoulder responsibilities, and contribute to social progress.
