At 19:58 on December 3, 2024, the upgrade of the reheating system for waste heat to power from 5 stages to 6 stages for the No. 3 production line at China Railway Materials Anhui Tiepeng Cement Co., Ltd.—constructed by Nanjing Kesen Kenen Environment & Energy Co., Ltd.—successfully achieved grid connection on its first attempt and met all design specifications.
Since 2020, Kesen Kenen has been researching and innovating high-efficiency reheating technology for power generation. It has successfully applied this technology at multiple projects, including Hunan Shaofeng, Zhangjiajie Liyi, Bijie Xinan, Hunan Jinlei, and Ningxia Tairuida, each achieving the expected results in newly built projects. This technology is now widely used in industries such as building materials, metallurgy, and waste-to-power. The successful implementation of this project represents the nation’s first successful conversion of a waste heat to power system from a conventional model to a high-efficiency reheat system following the upgrade of a cement kiln preheater from five stages to six. It stands as another successful example following the Xuzhou Longshan project. The successful commissioning of these two projects has widespread significance as a model for technological upgrades in the traditional power generation sector.
By transforming the original power generation system into a high-efficiency reheating system for waste heat to power, this project raises the power output from the conventional 24–26 kWh/t. cl to 27–29 kWh/t. cl. It also reduces the plant’s own electricity consumption from 6% to below 4%. With an investment payback period of only two to three years, the project delivers both economic and social benefits to the enterprise.
This high-efficiency reheating technology upgrade enhances energy utilization and achieves a technical breakthrough and innovation in transforming the traditional power generation industry. It serves as a demonstration and guide for accelerating industry transformation, upgrading, and improving production line quality and efficiency.
This successful practice once again confirms Kesen Kenen’s technological innovation capabilities and its commitment and ability to provide “extra-value services” to its customers.
