On November 5, 2024, China's first carbon reduction smart project through high-efficiency reheat energy island, contracted by Nanjing Kesen Kenen Environment & Energy Co., Ltd. ("Kesen Kenen") for Ningxia Tairuida Industry & Trade Co., Ltd. ("Tairuida"), officially commenced at the Qingtongxia New Materials Industrial Park.
Han Wandong, Vice Mayor of the People's Government of Qingtongxia City, Ma Jianbang, Deputy Director of the Qingtongxia Development and Reform Bureau, and several other leaders attended the groundbreaking ceremony and delivered speeches at the event. The project has received significant attention and strong support from the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission, the Department of Industry and Information Technology, and various levels of authorities in Wuzhong City and Qingtongxia City, and has been listed in the National Major Construction Projects Database. In their speeches, they mentioned that the construction of the project is essential for the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and necessary for improving the efficiency of comprehensive resource utilization and sustainable development.
Hou Bincai, Executive Deputy General Manager of Kesen Kenen, delivered a speech at the ceremony. He stated that Tairuida's carbon reduction smart project through high-efficiency reheat energy island holds significant strategic importance. Its main features include adopting a high-efficiency reheating system to recover waste flue gas heat for power generation, which can increase power output by 8–10% compared to conventional industry technologies. The project utilizes an intelligent control system for power generation, achieving the goal of "one-click start, one-person monitoring." A visualized submerged arc furnace system and a comprehensive automatic control system for the production lines exemplify the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries through digital technology, establishing a model for green and intelligent manufacturing. Additionally, by creating an energy island, the project can supply steam to surrounding enterprises while generating electricity.
Upon completion, the project will achieve hierarchical energy utilization, multi-energy integration, energy saving, and carbon reduction, contributing to ecological sustainability. Simultaneously, it will bring substantial economic benefits, providing the owner with continuous and stable investment returns.
The construction of this project will set a new industry benchmark for Kesen Kenen, promote the application of the company's independently developed reheat method for waste heat recovery and power generation in the ferroalloy industry, and position the company as a model and leader in carbon reduction, efficiency enhancement, and green intelligent technologies!
